Politics Schmolotics

Ok well let's just say I am soo fed up with Politics. We can't get away from it. You have politics at work, politics with your mommy groups, politics within family and the politics that affect us most the politics of the nation and the world around us.

I won't lie I am or rather I was a republican. My views tend to lean towards the conservative arena. However, conservative for my own actions, I am a live let live type of person.

When I heard about Sara Palin's appointment I was ambivalent I thought hmm this is meant to try to target women and Clinton followers. During her nomination acceptance speach I thought ok well maybe there is substance to her, and I was looking forward hearing more from her. I was appalled to see her in her interviews and felt insulted that McCain would think that women would vote for a woman just because she was a woman and not make an intelligent decision to pick the most qualified candidate. I was pleased to see that she did however carry herself well during the VP debate.

I still feel like we have not heard anything with real substance from the candidates, its like one big high level presentation with no real action plan.

The economy is one big mess and many have contributed to it. People spending money they did not have, banks being greedy and taking unneccesary risks, wall street traders. Corporate corruption you name it. We have hit the kettle boiling point.

I think one of the things that can help in solving this and move forward is to freeze the interest on credit card bills but also to close these credit card accounts on people who are overspending and allowing them to keep 1 account. By freezing there interest it gives them an opportunity to pay down their bill without the increasing interest. Since the banks gave credit to those who did not deserve to have it or knew how to manage it they should take the loss of the additional interst. However this method would at least give them the opportunity to receive some money.

I agree with Whoopi Goldberg that the government should be helping those with problems ont heir mortgages. I think the bank interst rates should be lowered and fixed to enable people to pay off their mortgages. This would help the banks and the consumers.

Senior members in banks should be let go so that the lower level workers can stay and be rehired to help towards fixing the problems.

In Junior high school on there should personal financial management shoudl be part of the curriculum.

I think accountability and respect should be primary in learning. We have become so obsessed with greed with the material things and disrespect for ourselves and those around us has led to these financial problems around the world.

I think we all need a dose of practicality.

So weeks before the elections I am not closer to picking our president than I was when they identified the presidential candidates. Do I vote for McCain, who's attitude and temperament can be counterproductive when dealing with the international arena? We cannot go to other countries with do as I say and not as I do attitude. McCAin is quite old if he does not make it then Sara Palin could be President, would she be qualified hmm I think not. Barack Obama, wishing and hoping is all very beautful, but putting it all into action does not seem realistic. Additionally all of the candidates have bent the truth in some way. Why is there not a candidate that is the obvious pick.

Gas has started to go down VERY GOOD, however is the result people will be back to driving more? Than looking for alternative methods of travel? Hey I am a gas guzzler myself, However I do feel guilty for not biking it around more often.

Ok at the rate that we are going with these candidates Paris Hilton is starting to seem the most qualified.

Ok I am sleepy so I can't ramble anymore goodnight
